Why everyone’s feed looks the same in 2026 (and what to do about it)

A free 2026 trend report worth a look if you’ve ever wondered why your posts blend into the feed — and what makes work stand out this year.

Ever scroll your own feed and think it looks like everyone else’s? Same lighting, same angles, same clean-but-forgettable shots.

You’re not imagining it. Audiences are tired of sameness, and the work that gets noticed now is the work with some personality behind it.

We came across a free resource a few of you might want. It’s the 2026 Design Trend Report from Stills, a photo licensing agency. It’s made for designers and creatives, not for our world specifically — but if you post your work online, and most of us do, a lot of it lines up with what you’re already doing behind the chair.

The through-line is simple: personality over perfection. Texture, colour, and images that feel human instead of staged. The report walks through the looks shaping this year, including:

  • Direct flash — raw and unpolished, the opposite of airbrushed
  • Maximalism — bold colour, more detail, less playing it safe
  • Grunge, surrealism, and americana
  • Design styles like scrapbook, scribbles, and skate-shop energy

You don’t have to chase any of it. But it’s a good window into where visual taste is heading, and it might spark an idea for how you shoot and share your next look.

It’s free to download for members now. Find the link below!
