Now being a director for the association is easier than ever

ByGreg Robins 2022-09-072022-09-07

Bylaws are more than just rules – they open the door to you so you can participate in our community as a director.

In the summer of 2022, the directors at the association voted in a revised set of bylaws which paved the way for a more democratic way to elect board members.

This means it’s easier for you to be nominated and run for a set at the board that it was before. The goal was to encourage more members to consider being on our board and helping shape the industry for the future.

Less red tape

In the past, the process not only took a high toll on association staff, it included a ranking process that was not relevant to the final outcome. There was also wording that left room for interpretation and made for some extra meetings and legal costs.

A nice and neat process

The new bylaw (7.5) makes running for a seat on the board faster for you and easier for us. It also strips away any vague parts and sections which are not relevant.

We’d love to have you join our board in 2023 – please keep an eye out for announcements ahead of our AGM in 2023.
