ICON Salon Systems, a well-known distributor in BC, is joining the SalonCentric Canada team.
There’s some exciting buzz in the Canadian beauty world. SalonCentric Canada, part of the L’Oréal Canada family, has just made a major move by acquiring ICON Salon Systems. This deal marks a significant expansion for SalonCentric in the Canadian market.
ICON Salon Systems, a well-known distributor in BC, is joining the SalonCentric Canada team. With 7 stores, a dozen sales reps, and a strong team of 41, ICON has been a big name in BC’s beauty scene. This acquisition means SalonCentric Canada is set to become a major player in the region’s professional beauty market.
The Story Behind ICON
ICON isn’t just any distributor. It started back in 1950 with Stafford and Mildred Gould and has been a family affair ever since. Kent Gould took over in the ’80s, leading ICON to become one of the first Redken distributors in Canada. Fast forward to 2015, and Kent’s kids took the reins, keeping their focus on what matters most – stylists and salon owners.
We spoke with Tyler Gould, Director of Operations at ICON, who said “Nothing is going to change right away – sales reps, product lines, and our service team will be just as they were before.”
What the Big Wigs Are Saying
An Verhulst-Santos, President and CEO at L’Oréal Canada, is all about this expansion. “We’re here to serve stylists across Canada with the best of the best,” says Verhulst-Santos. “Bringing SalonCentric into BC is a big step towards that goal.”
Bertrand Fontaine from SalonCentric North America is also stoked about welcoming ICON. “They’re all about top-notch service, just like us,” Fontaine notes. “This is about giving stylists and salon owners more of what they need to succeed.”
